Sun Haven Valley Pitch Sizes and Information

Over 80% of our electrical pitches and 50% of our non-electrical pitches are at least 8metres (26ft) wide. However, in order to ensure the statutory spacing of 3m between tents, your tent cannot occupy the outside 1.5m strip down each side of the pitch. Guy ropes are acceptable, but you cannot pitch the tent in the area. This means that on an 8m pitch the maximum tent width will be 5m (wall to wall) & the length varies from pitch to pitch. Basically, if you have a rectangular tent with dimensions on one side of 5m or less you should not have a problem.
In order to help, we have drawn up a table of maximum pitching areas to ensure that you will not encroach on these spacings with an oversized tent. Please note, this area is the "Usable Area" of your camp pitch & must also contain any extensions, porches etc. plus gazebos and pup tents. Each pitch has a 2.5m strip across the front that can be used for car parking. Pitches on the central islands also require a 1.5m strip along the dividing fence at the back of the pitch.
If you book a block of adjacent pitches, you may cross pitch boundaries, providing you maintain a 3m spacing between tents.
If you book 2 adjacent pitches for a single
tent you may add 3m to the combined widths of "max tent size" as you
can then use the 3m safety strip that would ordinarily divide the camp pitches.
Please note that we must observe periodic 3 metre spacing strips on site to comply with the site licence and Health & Safety requirements. These may not be used for anything other than recreation, particularly not as storage or parking.
Please do not hesitate to call us
if you wish us to help pick a camping pitch for you, although
the responsibility of ensuring all equipment will fit within the camp pitch
boundaries still remains with the customer.
