Behaviour
Please note that we are
not a "party" park. If you are seeking late-night
barbecues and parties to celebrate the summer, or
an on-site bar / disco followed by the bright lights
of Newquay until the early hours then we are sure
you will have a wonderful holiday but regret that
this is not the park for you.
We have no club, no bar and enforce both a general
"no disturbance" rule but more especially "silence
after 10.30pm" ( & so excludes late night
barbecues, suppers and ) and this is implemented by night-wardens.
We often lock the park gates at midnight and when
we do cars must be parked on the public road outside
the gates.
We accept small groups of surfers but only if the surfing is more important than the "apres-surf" and we accept couples of any age - unless we notice a large number all booking for the same weekend in the same area of the campsite. Please note that we reserve the right to terminate your stay should you inconvenience or disturb other holidaymakers and you accept this condition of your holiday contract as soon as you pay us for your holiday.
For groups of 16+ holiday caravans try Tregustick Holiday Park at Porth, www.thpark.co.uk or telephone
01637 872478 - I'm told if you quote "Sun Haven Valley" you'll get a tenner as a discount & a much easier time from the owners !
For single sex group camping ( e.g. stag &
hen parties ) try Smugglers Haven camp site, telephone
01637 85 2000 where the late night partying
could be much more to your liking- or search the
Internet on the terms -Newquay- caravan and 18-30.
The surf lodges e.g www.newquayreefsurflodge.co.uk
; and www.vacationlodge.co.uk
also offer a local alternative.
If you just want a bed to sleep in, try a Google search "Belushis hostel newquay" this will give you a series of hostels from "bed-only" upwards. Dormitory rooms, bunk beds, shared "facilities" and priced accordingly. In the centre of town (no need for a taxi at 3a.m.), they take stag & hen parties, rugby clubs and just general groups of party people. Belushis has a bar downstairs, food from early breakfast to late supper and booze all day - and they DON'T have night wardens telling you to be quiet after 10.30 pm !!
We hope this has been helpful and that you have
a good time !
if that's not you and you are still readng -
We are often asked " What does silence after 10hs30pm mean" ?
In Whitsun, July and August, when most of our customers have young children, if you take it that the line means what the words say, you are unlikely to be disappointed. We aren't perfect and it doesn't quite happen exactly like that, but it's what we aim for.
At other times We expect people to be reasonable, bearing in mind how close the nearest tent is, but we still don't accept late night "sessions" - whether they're debating, dining, singing, discussing the surf (or whatever) if anyone else can hear you.
MAny of our customers say ""We've been to lots of parks with a silence-after-10hs30 policy, but at Sun Haven Valley it really does work".
- Well thats because work hard at it. We don't have many teenagers bacause we have no disco, no arcade, and no organised entertainment. We do "night" patrols and ask people to be quiet where necessary, and if holidaymakers disturb the sleep of people around them by"intentional" noise, then they will be leaving site the following morning - and in a park where the noisiest thing is usually the sea ( half a mile away) it doesn't take much to be overheard. We can't stop the snoring, the upset baby crying, the early hours "mummy, I want a wee", but we do our best to give everyone a good nights sleep. SO if wanting to talk til the early hours with a beer or two is a serious factor in whether you come to us or not we suggest you try elsewhere.
To sum up - Can you talk after 10hs30 ? - During late July & August - No, not if we can hear you from outside of the boundaries of your pitch. This would mean that the children in the next tent can hear you and you will wake them up, who in turn wake everyone else and spoil lots of hoildays.
We do however have lots pf people who sit outside of their tents reading a book, drinking a glass of wine enjoying the silence and even having quiet converstions - but if you still need to question this, please don;t come. Every year we evict some half a dozen holidaymakers and it will spoil your summer and ours.
Summer arrivals and departures - please give us a chance.
See it from our side - from mid-July & through August we can have 30 to 40 campers leave in a day. Departure time is 10hs30am and many overun this, particulalry if it's raining; we then have to pick up the litter, gather up the lost property and remaining tent pegs, cut the grass, strim the edges, look over the pitch etc. etc. Juggling between lawnmower, site van, tractor & trailer and strimmer whilst people are leaving their pitches and others are going out for the day; - let alone when it starts to rain and we have to start spiking the lawns as well - moving equipment between pitches as necessary and generally rushing round like headless chickens - and there is always someone at the gate who has "just arrived early and wondered if they could get on" ..... often before the leaving camper has finished packing and certainly whilst we are still "juggling". PLEASE - we have no spare space, no spare pitches, no large car parks. During August, If you need/want to arrive early, book an early arrival & we will prepare the pitch the night before then you can drive on at 08hs30 when reception opens ( or earlier by arangement). If you want a leisurely breakfast on your last day and a few hours on the beach to let the traffic die down ? book a late departure and have the pitch to 20hs00, but otherwise please help us by sticking to the times as best you can.
